A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows: Per chevron reversed Argent per pale Gules and Azure, in chief a hurt bearing a grid lined terrestrial globe Or, overall and throughout a sword erect of the last charged on the hilt two conjoined circles in pale Gules, between in base the Greek letters Alpha and Omega Or. Attached below the shield a Red scroll inscribed "UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE" in Gold.
The red, white and blue colors of the shield are the colors associated with the Army Material Command. The blue disk suggests the Battalion's continuous stability. The terrestrial globe indicates the Battalion's worldwide responsibilities, its ongoing sustainment to the warfighter and capabilities to deploy soldiers anywhere at any time. Gold refers to the moral and ethical principle ingrained into each service member ever-mindful of the fiduciary accountability to the American taxpayer. The sword symbolizes military readiness to respond when needed with contracting duties. The two vertical conjoined circles allude to the number "8" and the unit being the eighth (8th) contracting battalion activated in the Army and its support to the Eighth Army. The letters "A" and "W" (Alpha and Omega) denotes contracting excellences for the mission success, from beginning to end.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 19 November 2012.
